Who We Are

F.O.W.L. Used Book Store opened its doors in July 2021 as an ongoing fundraiser for the Friends of the Weaverville Library (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization). All proceeds from the store go to enhance the programs and services of the Weaverville Library, a branch of the Buncombe County Public Library System. It is located in the lower level of the Weaverville Library and is staffed entirely by volunteers.

As the only used bookstore north of Asheville in Buncombe County, it is stocked primarily with donations from the public. There are sections for adults,children, and teens. All materials are further divided by fiction, mysteries, and over a dozen non-fiction categories. There are sections for new best-selling books, coffee table books, puzzles, games and “Old and Odd” titles. Items are priced by category with price lists displayed throughout the store. There are also sales and discounts throughout the year to promote specific categories of items.

We hope to provide a friendly and relaxing shopping experience while providing gently used, bargain priced materials to the readers of our community and supporting our local Library.
